INTIMACY REWIRED™ FOR INDIVIDUALS

You may understand your relationship patterns—and still find yourself drawn back into them.

Therapeutic relationship coaching and sexology-informed support for women who want to understand what draws them in, trust themselves more deeply, and create relationships where desire and emotional safety can exist together.

Perhaps this feels familiar

You are capable, reflective and self-aware in many areas of your life. Yet dating and relationships can awaken a very different part of you.

You may find yourself:

  • drawn to people who are emotionally unavailable, inconsistent or difficult to reach

  • experiencing powerful chemistry that gradually becomes uncertainty, longing or anxiety

  • losing confidence in yourself while trying to understand what someone else feels

  • knowing intellectually that a connection is not meeting your needs, yet struggling to let go

These patterns do not mean that you are broken, needy or incapable of choosing well.

Often, they have developed for understandable reasons. Attraction, attachment, self-worth, past experiences and the nervous system can all influence whom we desire—and what begins to feel familiar enough to call chemistry.

The aim of this work is not to teach you to choose someone who feels safe but leaves you cold. It is to expand your capacity for a relationship that can feel both alive and emotionally safe—without abandoning your desire or yourself.

  • finding emotionally available people reassuring—but not always desirable

  • repeating patterns you thought you had already understood

  • questioning whether you are asking for too much, choosing badly or somehow getting relationships wrong

  • wanting a relationship deeply while also fearing the loss of freedom, independence or self

Insight alone does not always change attraction

You may already recognise the pattern. You may understand attachment styles, know the red flags and be able to explain exactly why a particular relationship is not good for you. And still, when someone awakens something powerful in you, that knowledge can seem to disappear.

This is because relationship patterns do not live only in our thoughts. They can also be held in what feels familiar, what the body responds to, what we have learned to associate with love—and how uncertainty, anticipation and being chosen influence desire.

Sometimes emotional distance intensifies attraction. A message feels more valuable because you had to wait for it. A small moment of closeness feels extraordinary because it follows uncertainty. Calmness, meanwhile, can initially feel unfamiliar or even strangely flat.

That does not mean every intense connection is unhealthy, or that every calm connection is right for you.

Chemistry matters. Desire matters.

The deeper question is whether your desire is leading you towards a relationship in which you can remain connected to yourself—or into another cycle of waiting, interpreting, proving and hoping.

Working beneath the pattern

Our work creates space to explore not only whom you choose, but what happens inside you when attraction, uncertainty, intimacy and vulnerability enter the room.

Depending on what is bringing you here, areas we may explore together include:

  • the relationship and dating patterns that keep repeating

  • the difference between desire, anxiety, validation and genuine compatibility

  • why particular people or dynamics feel so compelling

  • attachment patterns and the ways you protect yourself in relationships

  • self-worth, boundaries and the fear of asking for what you need

  • staying connected to yourself during the early stages of dating

  • your relationship with your body, sexuality, pleasure and desire

  • creating space for intimacy without losing freedom or independence

  • exploring monogamy, consensual non-monogamy and the relationship structures that genuinely fit you

This is reflective and therapeutic work, but it is also practical. We may slow down a particular dating experience, notice what happens in your body during uncertainty, explore the beliefs shaping your choices, or consider how you can communicate differently in a real relationship.

The aim is not to remove vulnerability from love. It is to help you meet vulnerability without losing your centre—and create more choice in the places where you may previously have felt pulled by the pattern.

Therapeutic depth, grounded in real relationships

Not every relationship difficulty needs to become a diagnosis. And not every dating pattern can be solved with better strategies, a stronger profile or a new list of red flags.

My approach brings together therapeutic relationship coaching, attachment-informed exploration, sexuality counselling, mindfulness and practical experience of how people meet, choose and relate.

At times, we may look beneath the present situation and explore how earlier experiences continue to shape what feels familiar, desirable or emotionally risky. At other times, the work may be very practical: slowing down a new connection, preparing for an honest conversation, noticing where a boundary has become unclear, or looking at whether someone’s actions truly match what you want from a relationship.

Relationship patterns and attachment

We explore the emotional patterns activated through closeness, distance, uncertainty and rejection—without using an attachment style as a permanent label or explanation for everything.

Desire, sexuality and the body

Desire is not separate from the rest of your relational life. We can explore attraction, pleasure, sexual confidence, changing desire, body connection and the conditions that help you feel most alive.

Dating and real-world choices

Insight becomes meaningful when it begins to influence the choices you make. My background in dating and matchmaking allows us to bring deeper reflection into the reality of modern dating, attraction and choosing a partner.

A process shaped around you

The work is collaborative rather than prescriptive. I may offer questions, observations, tailored practices or between-session reflections, but there is no formula you are expected to fit into. We begin with what is happening now—and gradually make sense of the deeper story around it.

Ways we can work together

Many people arrive with one concern in mind. Once we look more closely, it may connect with wider patterns involving attraction, attachment, self-worth, intimacy or desire.

Intimacy Rewired™ is the core process and is generally the most appropriate choice for recurring, longstanding or interconnected concerns.

Focused Clarity is offered when the situation is clearly defined and a shorter process is likely to provide meaningful support.

You do not need to work out which pathway is right for you alone. During our complimentary introductory call, we can consider what is happening and which level of support would be the most appropriate fit.

  • find clarity around a decision

  • Tailored reflections or practices between sessions

  • Final integration and next-step conversation within the third session

About Miia

I’m Miia Koponen, a sexologist and therapeutic dating and relationship coach.

Before moving into therapeutic work, I spent more than 15 years working in the dating and matchmaking industry in London. I saw how people choose, what creates attraction, and why being intelligent and self-aware does not necessarily make relationships any simpler.

That experience still shapes how I work. I understand the reality of modern dating—but I’m less interested in teaching you how to perform better within it than in helping you understand what happens inside you when attraction, intimacy and vulnerability become real.

My approach brings together sexology, attachment-informed therapeutic coaching, mindfulness and practical relationship experience. It is warm, collaborative and honest. There is space for complexity, sexuality, ambivalence and the parts of you that may want closeness and freedom at the same time.

I work online in English and Finnish with individuals in Finland and internationally.

“What I was actually seeking was deeper connection, better communication, greater vulnerability and trust.

I feel that I know myself much better now, and that I have permission to keep getting to know myself as I change and evolve.”

— Anni, 30
